THE HUMBLE PIE TODDLER BOOK UNIT

The Humble Pie

by Jory John

The story follows "The Humble Pie," a character who is modest and usually prefers to let others take the spotlight because he believes they deserve it. However, the dynamic changes when he is paired with his best friend, Jake the Cake, for a school project. Humble Pie realizes that staying in the background isn't always the best choice and that "staying in the shadows isn't always as sweet as pie". Ultimately, he discovers that it is important to speak up and let his own voice be heard.
