DOGGER
by Shirley Huges’
Sequencing
The Theme: Empathy, Sibling Bonds, and Selfless Giving
Focus: This unit follows Dave, who loses his beloved stuffed dog, Dogger. The story focuses on the emotional rollercoaster of losing something special and the heartwarming moment when his older sister, Bella, gives up her own prize to win Dogger back for him. It is a perfect tool for teaching children about “The Great Trade”-giving up something you want to help someone you love.
