GIGGLE, GIGGLE, QUACK
Doreen Cronin
Farmer Brown is going on vacation. He asks his brother, Bob, to take care of the animals. "But keep an eye on Duck. He's trouble."
Bob follows the instructions in Farmer Brown's notes exactly. He orders pizza with anchovies for the hens, bathes the pigs with bubble bath, and lets the cows choose a movie.
Is that giggling he hears?

PIG THE PUG FIBBER
by Aaron Blabey
Pig was a pug, and I'm sorry to say, he would often tell lies just to get his own way. Pig the Pug tells lies to get what he wants and get Trevor the sausage dog in trouble. When Pig hatches a plan to get at the hidden treats in the back of the closet, his lies get Trevor thrown out of the house. Finally he's all alone with those treats. What he didn't expect was the bowling ball. Maybe this time Pig the Pug will learn his lesson. Amazon Book Review

CRAFT
COLOR, CUT, AND GLUE
The Gruffalo
by Julia Donaldson
When Mouse takes a stroll through the woods, he meets a fox, an owl, and a snake who all want to eat him! So Mouse invents a Gruffalo, a monster with "terrible tusks and terrible claws, terrible teeth, and terrible jaws." But will Mouse's frightful description be enough to scare off his foes? After all, there's no such thing as a Gruffalo . . . is there? Sturdy pages and a cozy trim make this rhyming read-aloud perfect for preschoolers. Amazon Book Review
