Unit Overview: The Very Greedy Bee
Theme: Sharing, Self-Control, and the Benefits of Community.
Focus: This unit focuses on a bee who is very greedy and wants all the honey for himself. Through a challenging adventure where he gets "stuck" in a flower, he learns that being greedy doesn’t feel good and that sharing with friends is much more rewarding. It’s a gentle lesson in social-emotional learning (SEL) and the value of putting others before yourself.
Key Teaching Points
• Self-Control & Moderation: Learning that “too much” of a good thing (like honey!) isn’t always healthy or happy. The bee gets in trouble because he doesn’t know when to stop.
• The “Greedy” Feeling vs. The “Sharing” Feeling:
Exploring the physical and emotional difference between wanting everything (tight, hungry) and sharing (happy, relaxed, and making friends).
