• The Best Helper: Clara Barton was a very brave woman who spent her whole • • life taking care of people who were sick or hurt.
• The Red Cross: She started a group called the American Red Cross. You might still see their symbol today-it’s a big red plus sign!
• A Brave Heart: Even when things were loud or scary, Clara would bring food, bandages, and water to people who needed them.
• Little Teacher: Before she was a famous helper, she was a teacher! She loved helping children learn, just like you.
