"Handa's Surprise" by Eileen Browne is a delightful children's picture book that tells the stor y of a young girl named Handa who carries a basket of fruits to her friend Akeyo, only to ha ve them stolen by various animals along the way.
Book themes and Educational Value: friendship, sharing, and the joy of surprises. Additionally, it provides and opportunity to teach children about different fruits and animals found in Africa, as well as basic counting and subtraction skills as they follow Handa’s journey.
Sequencing Strips
1 Easy Version: Pictures are in order and ready to be colored.
2 Teacher Versions: Full-color examples to show the students the finished product.
Directions:
1. First: Color all the pictures on the sequencing strips.
2. Second: Cut out the strips and glue them together at tabs to make one long story.
